Toshiba’s March announcement that it is shutting down its business phone division caught more than one telecom agent off guard. The internationally-recognized communications technology vendor notified dealers of the pending closure in late March to their surprise and dismay. Copper State is fully prepared to address the Toshiba closure, and our customers have nothing to worry about.
We’ve partnered with Toshiba since 1984, and with such a longstanding partnership, we are confident when we say that it is not the end of the world. Toshiba will officially stop selling new systems on May 22, but will allow for additions, support, and licensing. The company will still support current systems until 2022.
From our standpoint, not much will change: we are still going to support our customers using Toshiba systems. If they need to add or change something, we will be able to go out and take care of their needs.
Any customers with Toshiba systems in our Arizona marketplace will receive support from us on every system, no matter how far back it goes. We have the expertise, certifications, and training to support even the really old systems.
Think of this as an evolution rather than a revolution. Our relationship with Toshiba was a great one — they were one of the easiest partners to work with — and Copper State is committed to carrying through on our promise of superior service with all customers despite the closure.
If you want to know more about how Copper State is going to move forward in the wake of Toshiba’s shut-down, attend our webinar Toshiba’s Exit from Telecom — What Are Your Options? on May 17 at 10am Arizona Time.
